Short texts for this week. Organizer notes sit outside the paste blocks. Fill the square-bracket fields before posting. Every date is a suggestion.
1Close the rename discussion
Short public post
Voice: Nancy (@NasdaqNancy). 178 characters.
The community has spoken. No chain or ticker rename. It is off the table for a year. Thank you @___siggi___ @Bitcoin_Beyond @Brendan_Lee__ @GavinMehl for speaking up. I hear you.
Longer pinned post
Voice: Nancy (@NasdaqNancy).
The community has spoken. BSV USA will not pursue a chain or ticker rename. It is off the table for a year from this post.
I pushed the proposal without enough coordination. That was a mistake. Thank you to Siggi (@___siggi___), Connor (@Bitcoin_Beyond), Brendan (@Brendan_Lee__) and Gavin (@GavinMehl) for speaking up.
We will still run the promised 72-hour poll and publish the full tally. The organizers recommend no. It is an advisory X poll. Our one-year no-rename commitment stands whatever the result.
Next we are setting up the association and gathering the evidence US venues ask for. We do not control the network or speak for the existing BSV Association.
72-hour poll
Voice: Nancy (@NasdaqNancy), stating the organizers' recommendation.
Run for 72 hours, from Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at noon Eastern to Friday, October 16 at noon Eastern. If the start changes, move the close by the same amount and update the text.
Poll text:
72-hour poll: Should BSV USA pursue a chain or ticker rename? The organizers recommend No. This is advisory. Our one-year no-rename commitment stands. Open Oct 13, noon ET, to Oct 16, noon ET. We will publish every option's tally.
Four options, entered separately:
- No, keep both
- Yes, chain name only
- Yes, ticker only
- Yes, both
Publish the tally
Voice: Nancy (@NasdaqNancy). Fill in all four results from the closed poll. Do not infer a result from the earlier discussion.
The 72-hour poll is closed: No, keep both [COUNT] ([PCT]%); Yes, chain name only [COUNT] ([PCT]%); Yes, ticker only [COUNT] ([PCT]%); Yes, both [COUNT] ([PCT]%). Total: [TOTAL] votes. Poll: [POLL URL]. Our one-year no-rename commitment stands.
2John becomes the public officer
Send the group message first. Nancy then posts and pins John's statement below, clearly credited to him. John also posts it from his own account with his photo. Complete this by October 13, before the October 14 Connor call.
Group message to send first
Voice: John Calhoun (@johncalhooon).
Before we post publicly: I will be Director, the named contact and signer for BSV USA. Nancy (@NasdaqNancy) stays our founder and runs outreach. I will post my name, city and photo.
A few ground rules: no rename, no lawsuits against exchanges, no spam, and agents never message exchanges. The tech is mine, at my own cost, free to the group. Flag anything wrong here before I post.
John's public introduction
Voice: John Calhoun (@johncalhooon).
I'm John Calhoun (@johncalhooon), based in [CITY]. [BACKGROUND: a short account of my work and experience.]
I am the Director and named contact for the BSV USA organizing group. Nancy (@NasdaqNancy) remains our founder and runs outreach.
We are a small group of volunteers setting up a US trade association. We want to gather the evidence exchanges and custodians ask for, keep the public record accurate, and give people a real name to contact.
A few things we will not do: rename the chain or ticker, sue or threaten exchanges, spam anyone, sell a token, or promise a listing. We ask nobody for money. Any listing news has to come from the exchange.
You can reach me here. Everything we have written is a first draft.
John Calhoun, Director

3Formation kickoff in the group chat
Short asks with an easy out. Nobody owes us anything. If people want it, a 30-minute call on Friday, October 23.
To BSV Esq.
Voice: Nancy (@NasdaqNancy).
BSV Esq. (@BSV_Esq), thank you for offering to help. If you have an hour this month, would you look at the state choice and the draft articles and bylaws? [DRAFTS SITE URL]. A few notes in the margin is plenty. If now is a bad time, just say so.
To GloboSphere
Voice: Nancy (@NasdaqNancy).
GloboSphere (@BorschCassie), thank you for offering to help. If you have an hour this month, would you skim the antitrust and conflict-of-interest drafts? [DRAFTS SITE URL]. Tell us what is wrong and skip the rest. If now is a bad time, just say so.
To OldCraig
Voice: Nancy (@NasdaqNancy).
OldCraig (@OldCraig), thank you for offering to help. If you have an hour this month, would you sanity-check the budget draft? [DRAFTS SITE URL]. It is short: we ask nobody for money, and the only cash need is filing fees, which the organizers cover. If now is a bad time, just say so.
4Membership and voting plan for the group
Voice: John Calhoun (@johncalhooon).
I am building a membership registry and voting system on my own time, at my own cost, free to the group. You can shape it. The draft spec is here: [MEMBERSHIP SPEC URL]. It is a plan, not a product yet.
Members would prove control of an X handle and bind a signing key they control. Voting eligibility would also need a check that each applicant is a distinct person. An X account alone cannot establish that.
Voting would be one verified person, one vote. Members could choose to lock BSV in their own wallet to qualify for a director seat. A lock would not be required to join or vote. Holdings, locks and donations would never buy extra votes. The association would never hold members' coins.
Hashes of the membership roll, election records and results would be anchored on BSV. Members could check the published records against those hashes.
Tell me what you would change, especially on identity checks, privacy, key recovery or director eligibility. Nothing is decided.
5Introduce the drafts site to the group
Voice: John Calhoun (@johncalhooon).
Here are the drafts: [DRAFTS SITE URL]. We wrote too much, so pick what matters to you and ignore the rest. Nothing is decided. Comment here with the document name.
6Robinhood communications, only when the brief permits
These two posts are copied from the Robinhood verification and call brief. Publish nothing further about the meeting before it happens, except the correction below if the contact is confirmed fake. Keep verification and preparation private. No countdowns, invitations, screenshots, employee names or live commentary.
One post after an authenticated call
Voice: Nancy (@NasdaqNancy).
Use only after the call has happened and John and Gavin have checked the notes and confidentiality terms. Every sentence must be accurate and disclosure must be permitted.
BSV USA volunteers spoke with Robinhood about its asset-review process. We are preparing the requested evidence. No listing decision or commitment was made. Any listing announcement must come from the exchange.
If evidence was not requested, replace the second sentence with: "We are documenting the discussion." If the call did not cover asset review, do not use that description. If disclosure is restricted, publish nothing. No speculative follow-up thread.
One correction if the contact is confirmed fake
Voice: Nancy (@NasdaqNancy).
Use only after impersonation is confirmed. Say "reported" only after reporting. An unresolved identity is not proof of impersonation.
Correction: the contact behind the announced Robinhood meeting was not authentic. No Robinhood meeting is confirmed. We have reported the impersonation and will use official channels.
Post the correction once, then resume the evidence work.
7Direct message to Gavin, who is not in the group chat
Voice: John. Send as a direct message on X, or by email if he prefers. Fill the link once the site is up.
Gavin, John Calhoun here. From this week I am the named director and the person who signs for BSV USA. You are not in the group chat, so this comes to you directly.
We wrote first drafts so nobody starts from a blank page, and we wrote too much. Nothing is decided. They are here: [site link]. We ask nobody for money.
If you have the time, three places where you would be the right person. First, the Robinhood contact: before anyone attends, we want a robinhood.com email and a calendar invite from it, and nothing shared about devices or accounts. I will send you the checklist. Second, the legal half of the data room: the commodity-style letter and a signed no-litigation statement. Your counsel's view of scope would help. Third, CoinMarketCap: keep the record corrected, with no rename.
If you have thirty minutes, join the call with counsel and the CPA. If not, no problem. And if any of this should not be on a public page, tell me and it comes down.
